Well I have only just started cycling the other month and only been on the road bike a few times and 2 weeks ago was struck down with flu and then after an infection in my lung.

Still recovering and had two weeks off work but back at work now but still don't feel like I have any energy and never felt that ill before. Just wished I could get out on the bike but think its going to be a while before that happens again.

Just want to get back on the bike :-(

This has been going around a while (I understand it's reached our Irish office) and it takes a long time to get back to full fitness. Take it easy!

I've had the lurgy for about a week now, the good news is that I've finally lost the temperature and sore throat, but I've got a hacking cough, I'm bunged up solid and at the same time I'm running like a tap, ugh. I'm not often ill but this time of year I seem to be vulnerable, I suspect that, like a lot of people, I'm run down at the end of winter and fair game to anything nasty thats going around.

Had it myself for a couple of weeks but life is just too busy to let it slow me down, carried on as normal had an entire week coughing so bad I thought I was going to tear my throat, pretty much over it now so all good.

Mine started sort of the same. Went on a ride then visited family next day who had a cold then mine started the day after.

It was very frustrating after going out all winter to keep some base fitness and i was just starting to get stronger and fitter again. Its almost gone now so only a week wasted

Same here, I had actually done some training this winter to help my fitness and was starting to pick up a bit, now it looks like I'm starting again, I'm just hoping it turns out to be just a minor set back, though it was annoying laying on the settee yesterday looking at the sunshine and then hearing friends talking about their 60-70 mile rides in the sun.

Thread resurrection , took the weekend off biking as i have had classic coughing up big lumps of the green stuff all last week , struggling to get any speed when riding .On night shift and still full of it so rule 5 has beat me

I had a bout of man flu beginning of the month and I'm still not right, I'm hoping that having yesterday's ride rained off might be a blessing in disguise despite it being very annoying, I'm hoping the rest helps me recover a bit more.

I had a flu jab.........so far so good fingers-crossed-smiley-emoticon.gif
