Cambridgeshire cyclists are invited to take part in a unique night ride under a blanket of stars on Friday 12 April along the Busway.
The free bike ride will run between Cambridge and St Ives, with groups departing at either end at 10.30pm and meeting in the middle at Longstanton Park & Ride.
Cambridgeshire County Council has organised the bike ride to celebrate the installation of solar-powered stud lights along the northern section of the Busway maintenance track.
Cyclists who want to take part should arrive no later than 10.30pm either at the Golden Hind car park on Milton Road in Cambridge, or in front of the Town Hall on Market Hill in St Ives. Hot beverages and snacks will be available until midnight at the halfway point at Longstanton Park & Ride for cyclists to refuel.
Mike Davies, Cycling Projects Team Leader at Cambridgeshire County Council said: "The solar studs make it brighter and easier for those cycling at night between Cambridge and St Ives. This cycle ride will demonstrate what a great addition the lights are to the route, and will hopefully encourage more people to cycle even when it’s dark. Everyone is welcome to join in this free event."
