Grand Poobah of Southampton?

I was coming out of Southampton in the middle of the afternoon yesterday, up at the top of the dual carriageway that connects to J5 of the M27.

As we were stopped at the lights, two police bikers appeared and stopped the traffic, then from the top of Thomas Lewis Way there appeared a police range rover, followed by two range rovers of a non-standard paint colour (kind of grey/beige), the rear one looked like it was one of those bullet-proof and bomb-proof jobbies, followed by another police range rover and two police bikers. The bikers who'd been stopping the traffic then whizzed to the front of the convoy and off they went at some considerable speed, with blue lights flashing!

Does anyone know who they may have been escorting?

Have we been rumbled - she was trying out the Catrike as a novel way of arriving at the wedding. It went wel;, but the dress designers aren't sure about the chain grease and the dress.

I reckon it was a the Fish n chip convoy, dashing them back to the station ,, prob with bread and tea.

personally I reckon they were getting all the politicians out before the flouride riots kick off.

We used to get that sort of convoy with motorbikes etc to transport criminals to court so in the middle of the police landrovers would be a prison van ... haven't seen those in years though.
