Any chance a passing mod could please swap the second capital G for a normal one? Ta.

Research is being conducted chez longers, going for the opposite to Mr Fnaar, I've done a couple of pints and will be doing the bottle of white from the Co-Op shortly.

I'll still be in bed for 10 which ever way round I tried it.

I'll experiment with Merlot and malt tonight:cheers:.
Mrs S wants to finish the Xmas shopping tomorrow, with me being dragged along as the "beast of burden", so a headache will give me something to think about other than how much she is spending.

I can vouch that Guinness followed by Paddys can result in prolonged unhappiness the following day.
If you have enough of each.
The worst hangover I have ever had in my life was purely grape induced.
About 3 bottles of wine IIRC, some (well, quite a lot of) Port and a couple of Cognacs.:becool:
This was on Friday, and the following Tuesday I still wished I was dead

That's not a hangover you're describing there, it's alcoholic poisoning..

Just got up from having a monster hangover, started with a bottle of wine at 1900, then onto the beer and finished gone 2 in the morning, finally got to bed at 6 in the morning and spent the whole day in bed. And my head is still spinning.

So grape before grain did not work for me.

Might have had something to do with swilling the bottle of wine down in about 10 mins and then followed up with 3 cans of lager straight after before I went down town.

Just got up this morning and still feel wobbly and head spinning a bit, only good thing was I never had to go to work last night else it would have to have been a sickie

You're probably right:blush:. I have never, ever felt so rough. I couldn't keep any food down for about two days.
It's a very good thing I was copiously unwell that night TBH. My liver would have the consistency of a Brooks saddle otherwise.

Thanks. No ibuprofen needed here :becool:

Either 3BM was right or the volumes were insufficient.

The wine was forgettable but I'll remember not to buy it again.

The results of my experiments have, alas, proved inconclusive. I had grape first (glass or Rioja) followed by 4 pints in the pub, and a tinny when I got home. So, wine before beer, feeling queer, or whatever the rhyme says... well I was t first, but that might be because i was woken at 8am by the dog wanting to go out, and we stayed up watching a film till 2.30am, so may just be triedness. Also, I'll have to do the beer first, as a control, then another sesh with just grape, and another sesh with just grain... s'gonna be a busy Christmas!
