My thoughts is that paying £1250 for a bike equipped with shimano sora is a bit excessive

The Boardman comes in Orange as well and the CRX 8.9 is another £1100 choice. The black/silver is a bit boring.

What kind of riding do you intend to do?
Gravel bikes are the latest incarnation of the doitall bike, good enough on and off road with generous tyre clearance. To be a true doitall bike the frame needs to have threaded eyelets to bolt on mudguards and a rear luggage rack. The clamp or strap on alternatives are poor and fugly bodges.

The 2021 model comes in orange? Or are you referring to the 2019 model which they don't make anymore?

EDIT: nevermind, just went on the boardman website. Nice orange I must say! I'd buy that

Hi,

I’m brand new to cycling (well not rode in 20+ years), I’m after a gravel bike but undecided by 2. Merida Silex 600 or a Cannondale Topstone3.

what’s everyone’s thoughts?

Sparky, what did you eventually decide on?

I got the Topstone 2. Probably more than I wanted to pay but Covid rather destroyed availability. Absolutely no regrets.
