Grease!

Not the dodgy musical.
What sort of grease should I use when installing my new bottom bracket?
The instructions say I should grease to the bearing faces, BB threads, crank splines, inside of the cups etc. but does not say what sort.
I have LM grease (multi pupose stuff) and copper grease. A friend has told me not to use copper grease as this can damage the outside of the cups.

Copper grease is to stop seizing - it's not a lubricant. LM grease will be fine, or you could buy specific Finish Line Waterproof grease - just a bit tougher and protects better.

Get a tub of Mobil waterproof grease from Halfords.

LM for moving bits. Copaslip for antiseize.

Finishline white teflon is great, but stupidly expensive. LM works just fine.

I've got a big tub of marine grease. Any problem with using that?
