I am definitely considering it, not done anything like it before in terms of cycling anyway.
Did the 10k last Sunday, Monday morning i could hardly walk. Still cycled into work tho

52 again with my bro. I panicked last time thinking I'd be near cut off, then my bro says let's go for around 20mph average,,,,gulp.... But was fine did in 2:56 and I'm a chunk.

There were some knobs out there though, no manners undertaking pretty bad show, pushing past a few crashes using as a race as the roads are closed just watch out for them.

The closed road theme is cool though felt weird not stopping at a junction

Yes i am sure the idiots and cretins will be out in force but they wont spoil my day.

I am looking forward also to the roads being closed and being able to cycle through Manchester and not worry about traffic and the numerous lights and holdups.

Always looking to better myself but not being a total jerk on the road to do it though. The event is a social ride foremost not a race.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
I did it last year ... and won't be again.

Having got taken out by someone who wasn't looking where they were going, together with riders all over the road, with crashes where there shouldn't have been - I'm not intending going anywhere near it.

I did it last year and had a great time, will be there this year also. Most likely slower than last year due to 4 months of illness. Hope its a little warmer than last year though.

I'm doing the 26 miles. Anyone else? Really looking forward to it. Hoping to beat 1.35 last year. Someone in front of me crashed into a bollard last year, I just managed to stop in time by not being too close. Will keep away from the edges this year.

Good luck, I have British Cycling membership this year so get priority start but given the amount of crashes I heard about not sure I want to.

I think it will be warmer as it's later in the year. The 26 starts at 11.45 so I don't want it too warm!
Well done for still taking part after a long illness jarlrmai. Hope all the training is going well.
Good luck, you priority starters should be able to stay out of trouble!

Not sure whether to enter the 26 miler or not . Did it last year & really enjoyed it . I was hoping to have a crack at the 52 miler but it sold out . Wasn't too far behind you Katherine as I rolled in at 1-36 . Only thing is that I have an appointment to have a damaged vein in my leg removed on the 2nd July I don't want do anything to upset that . Think I'll ask the gaffer what she thinks . Lol

Thanks for the support Katherine , just signed up for the 26 miler so " I'm in " . I'm also a British cycling member this year but not sure whether to start with them or not . Tbh I didn't hear about any crashes from the BC start but did see a few from the ordinary one .
