Great online service - Velo Ecosse

I have been looking at getting some new wheels and have been scouring the web for the best value / somewhere with stock.

I found the wheels at a good price at Velo Ecosse, but they showed the stock level as pls call. I dropped them an email last night (Sunday) at 21:15 and got a response back within half an hour explaining that they were expecting stock in the next day or two and to feel free to place an order on the site. They also had an offer of 2 free tyre either Conti GP 4000 s or all weather with the wheels and the email back reminded me to tell me to let them know which tyres I would like.

I ordered online today and got a call from them within 10 minutes to confirm the order and check everything was as it should be. Also to be told that the wheels were then being delivered and would be with me tomorrow.

All in all one of the best online service experiences I have received in a very long time, so credit where it is due. They will certainly be on my shopping list moving forwards.

Just wanted to share a good experience.

Having read your post, Matt, I had a look at their website and saw a pretty good price on a Topeak multitool. Every bike tool I looked at on the site said 'please call' so I emailed and asked about the availability. Three minutes later I received an email which said:

We will be receiving this item back into stock in the next couple of days. Please feel free to order online.

The response was so quick, I wonder if it was an automated reply.

The response I got back wasn't automated as it contained details specific to the product I was looking at etc.

The email was from owen, who I had a call from today. It could be that they are just very on the ball. A rare thing in this day and age, but very welcome.

If you are curious about the stock why not give them a call, they seemed like a friendly bunch.

But yes, I do agree that a please call instead of in stock / coming soon could be a little off putting for potential customers.

Yeah, I think 'on the ball' is correct. Item ordered and acknowledgement and confirmation emails received saying 'dispatched normally within 48 hours'.

Order dispatched yesterday, arrived lunchtime today by UK Mail. As the OP said, a good shopping experience; I'd use Velo Ecosse again.
