Great ride home this morning

I struggled to work on the bike yesterday - I'd spent the whole weekend digging two two foot deep holes in bedrock with a concrete breaker and I was aching all over before I even got on the bike to go to work yesterday afternoon - but at 3 in the morning when I set off home I felt like I could ride forever. I took a slightly longer way home through the lanes and attacked the hills, rather than slogging up them grumbling under my breath, and I began to remember what I used to enjoy about cycling when I was fitter. I might even cycle again tonight, even though my car is now fixed.

I always enjoyed cycling in the wee small hours, especially when the stars are out and the only light is provided by the moon and my dynamo.
