Nice! Glad you've got your karma back.

Re the cabbie in the OP. Other than letting off steam, do you think you acheived anything? It would be nice to think drivers improved their habits, but do you think the next few cyclists he met got better or worse treatment?

From experience, quoting the Highway Code, the RTA, Cyclecraft etc to a driver through a window has the effect of them immediately dismissing you as a loon. No offence but it does.

I don't really know, but the police have had a word with the white Audi driver and the owner of Pal Cars has given his driver a warning. I'm waiting to hear from Dolphin.

I still ride without bar endstops. Not had one that close this year though! Closest I ever had, back when I rode with clips and toestraps was a car catching the toestrap clip in his wheel arch and carrying me along at 30+mph for about a mile  .

I wonder what might happen if I crashed and landed on a bar end with my stomach with no plug installed? I reckon it would be bad enough with one in place.

Idiots, all of them.

My daughter and I have been out for 70 mile rides last Saturday and the Sunday before that, and have noticed that there is a clear difference in the driving standards within the Greater Manchester area and outside of it. A small sample I suppose, but it is certainly our perception.

All three were on the A626 in Stockport as I was heading from Stockport centre to Marple.
The first was on the bit called Offerton Lane
The fail to give way at the lights was at the junction of Offerton Rd and Marple Rd

In contrast, I've just done 50 miles to Jodrell Bank and back, and encountered only 2 "half" idiots (bit close but not close enough to get the hand).

Never seen what the problem is but then I use flat bars with bar ends in traffic (actually all the time). To land on the unstopped ends, I'd need to be traveling towards the front of the bike (never done that the times I've been offed, although I've been over the bonnet and had the bike traveling towards me..). Does mean I have to be careful around pedestrians though, but then ... I'm careful around pedestrians anyway.

What camera are you using. Is it on the handlebars?

Its a veho Muvi on a helmet mount velcroed to my helmet.
Picture's a bit shaky I know. I've been thinking how to reduce the shake, I normally wear my helmet loose,so I might try tightening it and see if that helps.
