Hello all,
Last August I decided to do something about the belly and got on my Trek 800 Sport that had been sitting in my garage for 12 years pretty much unused! After a winter lay up I started up again in the spring and am up to journeys of about 40 miles at a time with my biggest being 60 so far.
So good news is that I'm nice and trim again bad news is that I've got really sucked into this hobby
. Once I decided to start doing stuff to the bike other than pump up the tyres and oil the chain I got hooked!
Between this forum and You tube I've so far managed to strip the hubs, replace the bearings and axles, change the brakes, cables, adjusted the derailleurs, replaced pedals, bottom bracket, fitted lights, mudguards and a pannier rack. For what I've spent on parts and tools I reckon I could have got a new bike!. then there the new cycling gear - shorts, tops, jacket etc.....
Anyway, looking forward to sharing stories etc with you folks on here.
