Good evening,
My name is Martin. Born in Germany in the Black Forest, now living near Luneburg. I signed up here to learn more about bikes and cycling in Britain. While looking for a vintage Peugeot or Mercier road bike that I assumed could make me feel younger than I actually am, I stumbled over a vintage Raleigh Royal in excellent condition. Gathering information on the manufacturer and the model, I found this forum, and lots of helpful information in it. I thought you might find the story and some pictures of my new old bike interesting, so here I am.

Here are just two showing how exceptionally well the condition of the bike is after 50 years. The original wheels were missing when I picked it up, so I collected a set of 2 wheels rebuilt with vintage Campagnolo Record hubs and Rigida Snyper rims on the way.
