I’d say 70/80% of my grip is ok. Is there any tape that would be decent for a repair job to see me through the winter?

Have never regripped and it looks faffy, and not going in for a service until spring. So figured patching it up might work if I knew what to patch it up with!

I’d go for the simplest - electrical tape.

Yeah, I'd go with electrical tape - although tbh re-wrapping's not terrible if you find a decent guide and take your time

100% this. It's not that much of a faff, but if you don't fancy it electrical tape will do a fine job.

A few wraps of decent electrical tape will get you through the winter. It's sticky, waterproof, and you can build up the thickness to suit your grip. Just wrap it tight over the worn spots.
