That road was amazing, it was the something pass, something beginning with F I think. Even better than the Stelvio. One to go down on the trike I think.

That dam was pretty amazing, I know it's all set up, but the way they caught sight of it and went "What the....?!" And bless James and his Dacia Sandero... That could have been his Oliver.

What a night, Dr Who, Ray Mears and Top Gear....

Oh, and there was even a mention of bikes in Dr Who!

(Dr and scientist run down long corridor in mars base, Dr says "You should have bikes". She says bikes weight too much to bring, he says "You should have little folding bikes, they don't weigh a thing!".

<imagines David Tennant on a bike>

;)

Mr Campfire likes Top Gear, Wheeler Dealer, anything fixing things and of course Star Trek, Star Wars and all the other space/sci-fi thingies. Oh, yes, he loves anything animal, nature etc.

I'm afraid I just let him get on with it with the unsaid knowledge that if I REALLY want to watch something, I do so.

Anything for an easy life here.

Just watched it on iPlayer on the PS3.... What an awesome start to the series!

Why do they only have 7 episodes a series? The BBC sell it to more countries than any other programme don't they?

I would love to drive up that road in the Aston.... Then get a Tarmac S-Works out and ride back down!

Well, there's more than one series a year - 2 or 3? And the repeats on Dave probably bring in plenty of dosh, so they don't need to keep making it all the time, even though there is a topical element to it.

Also, there's quite a lot of work must go into some of those films/stunts, and they all have other jobs too...

Yes, absolutely Arch. Every year has had 2 seasons of top gear except 2002 when it restarted in the autumn and 2006 which was understandable.

The current season of Top Gear was also filmed in High Definition for the first time (only the Polar Special previously) causing them even more difficultly.

And I think it's a shame the doctor couldn't have got a folding bicycle in there somewhere.

I understand all this but its not fair on us!

Besides... if you had their job would you want to do anything else?

I do think some of the recent seasons have got a bit short from when they were doing 10 or 11 in the past.

If I was Richard Hammond I'd want to do Top Gear but I'd make sure that Brainiac got brought back how it was originally .

That would indeed have been fabulous! Just the idea was enough....

I do think the cinematography on Top Gear is superb - just the right level of cliche, but brilliant angles, lighting etc....

If you were Richard Hammond, you'd be fighting me off, but you'd have to get a haircut. Mind you, I fear it's a sign of age that I find James May increasingly attractive... It might just be his liking for Mechano etc though.

No-one invited me to! My Brompton and my Daewoo Shuttle would have been available.
Hmmm. Nuking the Daewoo
