I had a look at some in
Halfords the other day and Tiagra, and to be honest for the price difference £25 I think, even the Tiagra isn't that close even though people say it is. I am not saying they are bad, I think it has to do with the improved distance the lever travels it just makes the shifting more positive, on the sora it was quite a distance the 105 is much shorter or at least thats what i have found, the lever is an improvement as it will be on the sora and claris models. To be honest I wasn't expecting the improvements that there were between the two groups. It's just a personal opinion. I used Sora for over 6 years, but only the last two seriously, and didn't have a problem, I have still to match my highest avg speed on the new ones than I did on the Sora.
