Thank you everyone for the support....it's much appreciated. Here you go....comedy photo of me cycling home from the pool this morning. It's not glam but it is quite funny. Me, Liesl and the next British winner of the Tour de France.

Brilliant photo Cathryn, the baby will be born with an inbuilt cadence already installed. Hope all goes well for the next few weeks. As for the light thief, I'm sure his just reward will be along at sometime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This thread (minus the part about light theft) makes me happy. Good for you Cathryn!

Cripes, that's one big bump! Congratulations btw - on the baby that is not the horrid light thief.
How do you find drop handlebars with the bump? I expect you're predominantly on the hoods, but it's still not as upright then as a flat bar can be?

Anyway onto the subject of lights - I can third the Tesco 3w lights. The beam is narrower than cycle lights, but it's a nice fresh light and illuminates the way ahead very well - I tend to angle one at the road a few yards in front of the front wheel, and the other straight ahead.
I use these to attach them to the bike;

As they are velcro they whip on and off the bars very easily.

Plax, the drops are okay. Not ideal but okay. I used my mum's hybrid last weekend and found it much more comfy ref handlebars but my bottom objected to the more upright position. They're fine....there's some kneeing of the bump when I pedal but he'll survive.

Rich P...do not make such a joke!!! I'm secretly terrified they've missed one.

So... what is the due date? And what arrangements have been made to ensure the massed cyber aunties & uncles of CC are informed of the arrival as and when? It's not every day our number of new cyclists increases! This is an important event!

Due date is the 20th Nov...but he's bound to go over! I shall post an update as soon as I can...once they've done all the patching, stitching, cleaning and other nasty things that lie in store for me! Ugh.....

Taking the laptop into hospital with my wireless thing so I can email all my mates - real-life ones and cyber ones too.
