It doesnt look too bad when it is stitched up but it was a massive hole when I did it. When I bent my knee (thats where this is) you could see my tendon inside and a hole that went under my knee cap. Doctors said that if I didnt have it stitched and cleaned immediately, I could loose my leg. So I was the first one in the morning to go into theatre (lucky me), but I was still stuck in hospital for 4 days after that.

Oh yes, that was about two years ago now. The skin on the scar is numb though and it goes through me whenever I touch it (cannot feel a thing).

Blimey, sounds as serious as it looks, and each time I look at the picture it looks a bit worse! Hope he recovers ok.

I know what you mean. Maybe we get a bit braver each time, and look a little 'deeper' into the injury and actually start to feel the pain.
Glad the op was successful, but I imagine the hot nights must take some coping with. Hope everything turns out 100%
