No - the tooth fairy should always tell it as it is.. ours has occasionally had to comment on the lack of brushing of said teeth ... as those ones aren't worth as much apparently!!! And the Swiss tooth fairy's had to get involved on one holiday... and left a communication saying that they were leaving a small deposit on the tooth, with the remainder to be found at home on arrival of the tooth by fairy mail, to my son's fairy.

Ours still carry on the tradition of writing to the tooth fairy even after they don't believe in her any more... then you can get even more cruel in your correspondence:biggrin:.

I'm glad someone's as nasty as me.

The tooth fairy only left half the money for one of the teeth at my house - with a typed note saying why. "You only left me half a tooth, and I can't pay fairy money for the filling".

What's the going rate for a tooth these days? I got ten pence the last time I lost one.

Its 20 years since I had to fund the tooth fairy and it was 10p a tooth then! I should think with inflation at least 20p a tooth, though there could be credit crunch and recession linked reductions of course.

Yup, it's a quid a go at our house. And we have the same sort of slapdash tooth fairy as karen.488walker seems to... no money when kid #3 wakes up, but lo and behold! it's there later when she looks again

Our youngest tried to go for £2 for her first molar. The TF was impressed by her initiative, not to say gall, but turned her down flat.

So I could potentially make £32 if I removed all my teeth.

I think I'll keep them for a while yet. The price might go up...

Cost you more than that for the dentist (or were you planning a DIY job?)

If someone's lost a tooth, esp a molar, it's more likely to be a credit suck..

My (capped) tooth fell off into my pint of beer a few yrs ago... cost me flipping well 300 quid to get it fixed. That was a fun night out. I looked like Shane McGowan.
