A stones throw from you, St.Ives.
Ah, just moved from there!

I lived there from 1968 to 1976 when I joined the Navy and my Mother still lives there and we visit occasionally.

Still like the occasional pint in the Oliver Cromwell, but half the pubs I remeber and never used to drink in because I was too young have gone

Eventhe Royal Oak has been done up!

... and I remeber the Thicket from fishing down by the willow as the woods start and it being part of the St Ivo SChool's cross country run route

I also remember many a summer cycling with a girlfriend to swim (amongst other things) at Houghton Mill, and operatingthe lock to gain a few quid tips for spending money!

Another bus going over a cycle on the busway!
But it seems like a girl riding her bike on the cycle track lost her balance, fell on to the track, got herself out of the way just in time but not the bike. A lucky escape!

I can believe a gust of wind could knock you over on that track, it's so flat and open, like this photo there isn't much between the cycle track and GBW in places..

Be careful peeps.

Why would the bus even run over the bike? Would the bus driver do the same thing if encountering a cyclist on the road? Mad, they should have stopped to avoid a collision.

Anyway peeps be careful cycling on the adjacent service road as last tuesday I was cycling home in the dark and went over the handle bars smashing my face on the tarmac huge graze/bruise on my right cheek bone ouch/arghhhhhh! Bike has bashed gear changer and pannier is ripped at the bottom. Also my Endura Thermo leggings are ripped on the knee and my fairly new Park multi tool flew out the pannier pocket never to be seen again so really pee'd off. Reason was a piece of drift wood must have jammed the front wheel as I cycled along not knowing it was there in the dark, thus stopping my bike dead at 15-16 mph when I hit it and me carrying on over the handle bars like a sack of spuds with bike following me in a well choreographed summersault as I was clipped in. It wasn't on a closed section either, the first one after leaving Swavesey heading back to St Ives. The Council just haven't pulled their fingers out to get the mess the floods have left cleared up. I have already contacted BC's solicitors. The Council will be sued as it is lethal riding at night even with a Maxx D Light you just can't expect to see bits of tree branch, bits of old wood, pieces of pallet, bottles hiding amongst the vegetation on the tarmac path that should have been cleared up. Take care people who use it.

Go f*** yourself.

Interesting (maybe) @MisterStan and I saw a young lad end up on the tracks last week near Histon - not sure if loss of concentration or hit something - but tumbled headfirst onto the track - fortunately no bus coming but a bit scary how fast it happened....................

Sorry to hear about your fall crankers and I wish you a speedy recovery.

On a wider point about legal action, the council should face some kind of inquiry at the very least into how so much taxpayers cash has been spent on what is clearly a sub standard, and dangerous facility.
