This is a remarkable and in some ways quite offensive statement. Others have responded to it, but I find myself gobsmacked by it still. I cannot understand how it could possibly be a shame that any place on this planet has kept its ethnicity.

One used to hear this talk about Kosovo in the bars and streets of Belgrade, Mali Zvornik and other towns around Serbia. It sounded as wrong there as it does from you here.

I'd understood that you were Welsh; I hear a little bit of accent where you speak to other road users in your videos. I cannot see how you might resent the lingering Welsh culture inside Wales.

Is it the Welsh language that riles you? Is there a language prerequisite if you want to apply to be a PCSO in Wales?

If there is, it sounds a jolly good idea to me. I'd love to hear what drove you to make that statement about ethnicity.

Born in Wales you are now expected to be fluent in Welsh for most public jobs , certainly for teaching in Primary if Welsh born then you have to be able to speak Welsh. It has debarred my wife from returning to teach back in N Wales because when she was educated we were still being beaten for speaking Welsh in school. The Welsh language movement has pushed a bit too far IMVHO.

but we are now waaaaaay off topic

That's a bit OTT isn't it? I agree that it's probably not the wisest approach to life, to be constantly looking to put the world to rights, and that like as not it'll end up in tears, but I don't see anything inherently wrong in people ticking others off for selfish, potentially life-threatening behaviour. I don't think it's wise, but I don't think it's wrong.

.

How that is done is the point at issue.
Matt's approach in this instance was aggressive, and inappropriate on multiple levels: It might provoke an aggressive physical defence. It is most unlikely to have a useful psychological effect in changing behaviour.
His attitude in many of his vids is also aggressive.

He would be better advised to be assertive. eg in this case, politely attract the drivers attention, and ask him if he knows that using a mobile when driving is illegal.

Aggression
The dictionary defines aggression as:

1) Any unprovoked attack.
2) An act or attitude of hostility, usually arising from feeling of inferiority or frustration.

Aggression whether physical, verbal, or psychological, is destructive to both self and others. Nobody enjoys a bully!
Aggression is an approach used to make you feel better by forcing your point of view on others, hurting their feelings, and building resentment toward you. Every day educators intervene in student bullying situations. Yet these same individuals may allow themselves to be emotionally devastated by a colleague who is treating them in exactly the same way.

Assertion

The dictionary defines assertion as:

1) A positive statement; declaration.
2) An insisting on one’s right, a claim, etc.

To assert one’s self means to put oneself forward; make oneself noticed, especially in insisting on one’s rights. An assertive person is able to stand up to others and deal with each issue at hand.
Assertiveness skills can be learned and will not only resolve many interpersonal problems but will build confidence, self-respect, and improved relationships with peers.

Why should everyones safety human and civil rights be put in jeopardy just because some selfish person cannot abide by the law tolerate difference? [...] What type of world would it be if we just let everything go and allowed these people who have no concern for others safety do what they want? Turning a blind eye is not the answer. Standing up for yourself is the answer and people need to learn that putting peoples safety and lives long-fought for and hard-won rights to be treated as equals regardless of race or language in jeopardy is not acceptable.

I am not trying to enforce the law by confronting people but just trying to raise their awareness that driving whilst on the phone racism in all its forms is not acceptable. It has been illegal for 10 years and yet some people still havent got the message.
Try looking at the world in a different light.

I meant it with regards to the language. Let me clarify:

It is a shame that Wales has kept it ethnicity, because the Welsh language it part of it. As a non-fluent speaker and TBH I cannot speak a word of it apart from Hello and Goodbye, I find it very annoying when everything is in bilingual and it also prevents you from having the same opportunities as a welsh speaker (jobs etc).

I meant that in Wales, you have to be fluent to become a PCSO. So therefore I want to move to England to become a PCSO there which I would have a better chance of getting.
