No snow, but -7C first thing and never above freezing all day. Decided it was time to clear the piles of snow off the car cover - car hasn't moved an inch all week. I'm hoping it will start in the morning.

Here in South Debryshire we had maybe 6 " of snow last night then it froze over and hit - 11 when i went to work at 6am.

Some very dodgy sections even on the main road bits i use, glad i was in the car i did not fancy getting stuck in the middle of nowhere in the pitch black .

As historically usual in Peterborough, we've had very little snow, but there's still plenty of evidence of it several days after the last fall.

Low snowfall, funnily enough when my dad left the RAF, he asked where were the dryest places in the UK. The MET office in the RAF told him east anglia (dont know if that was peterborough exactly) or the south west. He chose Peterborough...and we've always seen low snowfall in the last 25 years.

A very light dusting last night on top of compacted snow thats turned to ice has made paths extremely slippery this morning. That saw me walking a few hundred yards till i could get to the gritted roads, and yet a paperboy sailed past on his bike...put me to shame.
-7C last night at Wittering, only a handful of miles away..no doubt slightly 'warmer' by the time i rode to work.

Temps have stayed about freezing all day, dropping to -2C as i prepared to commute home. Bitterly bitterly cold wind when you add in the chill factor, maybe -5 or more, bugger it was cold on my face.

The roadbikes not been used for about a week and half...prefer the wider tyres of my hybrid for safety.

I was only saying the other day at work, we don't have many words for snowing. There's blizzard, but that implies high winds. Pouring, bucketing, downpour, drizzle are all rain words. We have loads of words for types of rain, but it's hard to describe different snowfall without resorting to phrases like 'coming down heavily', or describing the snow itself - powdery, big fat flakes etc...

Dunno, but you can bet that in the Inuit language there'll be 231 different words for it.....*

*Actually, not true. Oft-stated urban myth...

Well, we were meant to get heavy snow tomorrow in Oxfordshire but now BBC weather is saying none. I was hoping for Monday off, bah!

Just had a slight covering of snow in Hemel Hempstead. Looking forward to getting on the lanes and trying to find some fresh stuff on the way home.

Hardly any snow in Bristol at the moment, although my commute from a higher and more rural area was quite white this morning. I reckon it'll be a fun journey home as well, once it all starts to freeze in the lanes. I've got the Marathon Winter's on though, so I just want it to snow more  I'm like a big kid with snow, I love it.
