Best thing i ever did was get some clippers from Argos ,, the wide just pows it all off once every couple of weeks.
My barber retired so I bought some clippers on Amazon and give myself an all-over at 23 mm and then go over everything except (what's left of!) the top at about 17 mm, and then do the sides at about 11 mm.

Back in the 90's (when i had some hair) i was in a proper old barbers , as i was sat waiting the lad that had just sat in the chair, asked the barber to "feather it" , he replied, you mean "Layer it" , no he says feather it , back came the barber you mean layer it , this went on three or four times, before the barber said, "listen, if you come here you get it layered, you get me doing in and it costs £3.00 , go up the road to one of them lardy dar fancy salons , have a 18 year old girl draped over you and get it feathered and pay £10.00 , the choice is yours "
So thats what the difference is between a £3 and a £10 hair cut (1990's prices)

The thing is, I have known some rather sad men who paid three times the going rate just to have their hair cut by young women draped over them!

CV's in the post please:banghead: .

Have you tried going to a local college that does hair and beauty courses? Usually they offer very cheap hair cuts, colours, the lot, for men and women, at very cheap prices if you have a trainee. You'd probably need an appointment though.

I used to know a lad who regarded this as worth the extra money. He was recounting how his trip to get his haircut had cost more than he expected, but then explained how the feeling of having the stylists breasts jiggling either side of his neck as she leaned forward to cut his hair had made it all worthwhile.

Me too, but it's a DIY, no gauge, next to the skin 'scalping' done every four weeks or so. Been doing it since the mid-90s.

My boss pays about £56 ( ) every 4-6 weeks for a wash and cut: I could buy two Argos clippers for that and they'd last for years.

You haven't needed a beer for fifteen years!

Wow! I guess the first 7 are the hardest. Days, I mean.
