The Boardman track pump is really nice, I've had mine for a couple of years, it's still going strong.Just took back to Halfords a "Joe Blow" track pump which had stopped "blowing". No receipt and had it for well over a year.
Replaced without question with a Boardman alternative (as they had none of JB's in stock)
Great service from some nice cyclist employees.

You're wrong Halfords are cack, and so is everything they sell.Someone will along in a minute to say you are wrong...
Is a couple of years considered a good working life for a pump these days? The Boardman track pump is really nice, I've had mine for a couple of years, it's still going strong.
Depends if you actually use it a lot or not. If you ride a lot, and use the pump a lot, then 2 years is good, if you just look at your bike, and hardly ever have a need to use it, then probably not.Is a couple of years considered a good working life for a pump these days?
And looks like boardman bikes might be permanently "discounted ", according to them as they have bought out boardman they dont have to pay a cut to chris anymore , lets hope as im after a team carbon next year and if it stays at £800 notes ............................. we can but hope.
Joe Blow servicing kits are mostly about £4, so most of them could go on for years too, but few want to bother repairing when you can get a new pump and sling the old one in the shop's skip. Two years, seriously? I'll be leaving my Rennkompressor to my grandchildren.
It's a real pity, isn't it? It's just a cylinder, a piston and a couple of valves, it can't be that difficult to fix.Joe Blow servicing kits are mostly about £4, so most of them could go on for years too, but few want to bother repairing when you can get a new pump and sling the old one in the shop's skip.![]()
No, but also I doubt many sterotypical underpaid and untrained half-odds assistants realise that the service kits exist. The range of pump spares listed on their website is pretty small. It's a real pity, isn't it? It's just a cylinder, a piston and a couple of valves, it can't be that difficult to fix.
From the point of view of a shop like Halfords a replacement is probably cheaper and less hassle than a repair anyway. No, but also I doubt many sterotypical underpaid and untrained half-odds assistants realise that the service kits exist.
