From the point of view of a shop like Halfords a replacement is probably cheaper and less hassle than a repair anyway.

I know I bang on about Renkompressors every chance I get but there's a reason for it. The design hasn't changed for 50 years and every single part is available as a spare.
I have one too. Interestingly, when the sealing washer (red IIRC) on my brass head eventually perished I looked for a servicing kit, incl writing to SKS. None available they said, sending me a new head.
Great service, but the EVA head's not a patch on the original brass, and somewhat surprising as, like you, I bought one based on its "Tigger's Broom" infinite serviceablility.
Just sayin'

Loving my Boardman Team bike...tho i did take it home in a box to diy build it....
Rutland Cycles wont let you take a bike without them building it...ive bought 6 bikes from them and every one was poorly preped, bar the Cube but even that had a small derailleur hanger bolt missing..holds the drop out in place when you take the wheel out..so you dont lose it in the undergrowth..i spotted it fortunately when i did my PDI...
problem with most bike shops is young staff and poor pay..experience and quality takes time and decent wages.

afaik they dont let the trainess loose on the boardmans , cant say i have have had problems myself .The only "issue " i have had is that the disc brakes on the subway are not brilliant and need to be re centred regularly but i think thats more down to the cheap brand that is on them rather than bike set up issues .

I don't remember seeing any Halfords shops in Provence , which is where your avatar say you live, lucky you! By the way, Provence is my wife's favourite place, and mine too.

No, there's no Halfords here but we do have Feu Vert, much the same experience but in green. I've only been in France four months. Provence is not too bad.

What do you mean: "Not too bad?". Provence is beautiful, lovely food and scenery, specially when the lavenda is out. Paradise!! The only problem is that properties are too expensive for me to live there.

You know what they say about the grass always being greener? They're right. Properties are way out of our league too but luckily the house comes with our jobs.

my first ever track pump was my first ever internet purchase, from harry hall before the manchester bombing. it's still going strong, and the best £25 i ever spent…
I bought a 'track' pump from Wilkos about 10 years ago for £7... it looks like a cheap plastic piece of sh!t but it does the job. Possibly one of the best £7 pounds i've spent
