I was in Edinburgh earlier, so I went into Alpkit's shop - just for a look. Long story short, I'm now awaiting the arrival of a brand new Sonder Camino AL Apex 1, Hydraulic in mint green. Should be coming in fifteen days. I might be selling a couple of bikes soon.

Did they sell it to you or did you sell it to yourself..my inner voice is better at selling to me than anything😂😂

Back in the day I went into Rory O'Briens in Romford for something or other that cost pocket money and came home with a Cannondale CAAD2 with full Veloce groupset.

Mrs SJ went spare, but it is always better to apologise afterwards than to ask permission first.
This is what I got up to back in the day...

I went to watch the Kellogs Tour go over that climb [The Nick o' Pendle] in 1999 (was it?) but was delayed and all I got to see was the TV helicopter hovering over the Nick above me in the distance as the broom wagon went through the KoM point. I was really disappointed so I jogged down to the bike shop in Padiham and spent £2,000 on a new Bianchi road bike. It was back in the days when I could actually afford to buy an expensive bike as spontaneous retail therapy!

Cool, the Camino does get a lot of good reviews and a SRAM groupset as well. Interestingly I see they offer a Mullet option as well with a wide range 11-50 cassette, definitely be my choice.

I've been pretty happy with my Sonder purchase from a few years ago, you do get a lot of bike for the money, I was impressed generally with the overall build quality. The only thing that belied the price was the quality of the paint, I just feel it wasn't as thick and hard wearing as the paint on my Kona. That said, whilst it has a number of wear marks and scratches it has held up fine generally.
