Your post above read that you disagreed that Halfords had their uses, and had nothing to do with economics or loss-leaders. I pointed out that you can buy spares, accessories and consumables from them at reasonable prices and a times when al LBS is closed. That's pretty useful IMHO. You haven't actually spelled out the reasons why you dislike them so I have no reason, at this stage to share your hatred of them. You have spoken of cheap rubbish to sold off as bargains, yet none of the reviews of the Garmin Edge 800 I have read has suggested its rubbish.Cubist from my personal experience which is all I have to go on they are certainly not very good. Your personal experience differs. So which one of us is right?
That's the point there sale price is the same price as a lot of other dealers out there, that is not what i call a sale, but like most companies they inflate the price then spend thousands on telivision adverts telling you it's a cheap price, i have had a couple of not so good dealings with halfords and i would not deal with them again, no differant to any other dealers i have had probs with, but i will always praise the good dealers.I don't get your point. They are both selling a discounted Trail bundle Edge 800, at an online price of £320
Google the same details and you find they are the cheapest online price at the moment for that bundle. Do you hate Halfords because you think you ought to?

Winstanley.
If you order something decently priced they just keep your money until you ask for it back.
Strange company.
If you read the google comparison link I posted you'll see that the two companies ar ethe cheapest by quite some margin. They haven't inflated the price first, the recommended retail price is considerably higher than the price they are offering it at.That's the point there sale price is the same price as a lot of other dealers out there, that is not what i call a sale, but like most companies they inflate the price then spend thousands on telivision adverts telling you it's a cheap price, i have had a couple of not so good dealings with halfords and i would not deal with them again, no differant to any other dealers i have had probs with, but i will always praise the good dealers.
think youve made that point alreadyHalfords I see as jack of all trades master of none. Also as a motor trade professional and a sporting ex- racing cyclists Halfords do not work for me at all.
I don't think the OP subtracted the additional 20% on Halfords. Any excuse to bash Halfords eh?
Do they, that is a well kept secret then.
