Halogen bulb question

OK - if you google LED GU10 - you'll get something like this
80,000 hours is a lot of fry-ups. It might be the answer to repeated fusing. I have had the same problem with GU10 tripping the RCDs at fail on fuseboards etc, it is just a question of resetting the fuse or lobbing out for a more expensive lamp I guess...
 
We have those knobbly ones in some fan type fittings in two rooms, and they do blow repeatedly.
We've changed our kitchen ones (normal kitchen, not extractor hood) ones to some energy savers (not the LED ones though). They are really good, not blown any yet, but they do take a while to warm up and are slightly bigger than the halogens so may not fit in your fittings.

We've also tried the LEDs; first two were awful (B&Q); have got a more 'upmarket' one at the moment which works a bit better but is very 'spotlight' for room lighting.
