Some B@$%&d broke in to my car at the early hours of this morning and stole my handbike. This is a specialist bit of equipment that is worth around £5000 It is a blue top end force RX. Whoever stole it won't know the true value of it to me though as it is my way to get out of my wheelchair and be on the road. I have used it for my own freedom, fitness and enjoyment. Pushed my self as hard and as far as I possibly could go and also used it in events to raise money for different charities close to my heart.

It doesn't look like this will be covered by my insurance and I would love to get it back. please keep an eye out on facebook/ebay/gumtree for some scum bag trying to sell it.

So specialised that it's virtually unsellable, I'd guess. What a waste.

Thieving bastards always seem to rate stealability over value. You can always melt it down and sell it for scrap. It works for Henry Moore statues.

A distinct empathy-failure.

I don't think so. My mate has a similar handbike and will not let it out of his sight. I said it was a sad affair, that's empathy. It's still not a good idea not to have it locked away somewhere safe at night. I would think in hindsight, the owner agrees with me.

I would think international handbike racing is a pretty close knit community, I know the international scooter racing community are. If the stolen bike turns up at a race meeting somewhere else, I would think someone would recognise it.
