I have loads of shorts which I use with my unicycle in the shower ^_^

I just don`t see the point of leaving minging, sweaty shorts in the washing basket.

So, without wanting hijack this thread..... what's the take on padded shorts for women? Are they as necessary? I haven't felt the need so far, but maybe not doing enough miles yet? First few weeks of cycling, I felt very 'bruised' but no longer have any problems. Just been wearing lycra (running style) 3/4 shorts. Are bibbed shorts worth it for women, or is it something men feel the benefit of more??

If you are using padded cycle shorts they are meant to be worn commando,

Tried it and it feels ok but being on show is just down right embarrassing,
As I keep getting told not to wear normal pants under the padded shorts i wear ,i decided that on my ride today to go commando.

Now without getting into some oo er mrs questions, i have to say i prefere to wear underpants, as they give more support.
:shy:

I agree
Do what suits you , i always wear undies and never had any problems , did a 97 mile ride a few weeks ago and no issues at all.
Everyone to the own , do what feels good.

If anything, the pad of bib/lycra shorts is designed to be worn next to the skin.
If you will wear boxers or pants then you should wear them outside the lycra shorts ala Superman.

I always wear a pair of nike dri-fit shorts (look like cycle shorts without the padding) under my bib shorts, the few times ive went commando I chaffed a little on tops of my thighs so went back with the liner and can do 300 miles in a week with no chaffing.

Did a lot of walking in the past and I always wore a liner sock to prevent blisters so thought same idea would work for chaffing on the bike.

Think the OP should give the liner idea a go as they would at least be better than boxer shorts underneath.
