Wow! Vera Lynn is still around? That's like hearing that Charles Dickens is still alive, or Florence Nightingale. Well, congratulations Ms Lynn - the soundtrack to 'our finest hour'.

Always remember my Father watching her on TV, smiling and saying,"She came and sang to me in Burma"-he then added,"along with the rest of the 14th Army". Apparently the warm up act(though in India, ,nowhere near the enemy)was Noel Coward.I never felt my Father had warmed to him in quite the same way.
