Sounds fairly plausible. Even explained why I thought I'd been to Helsinki -but it felt more Russian than Swedish to me. The Finns are big comedians with a very quirky sense of humour so I'm sure they'd all go along with it just as a prank.

Some of the people are brooding, but not sure the countries brood much more than, say, northern Scotland. Sparsely populated thobut. Skane in Sweden is great cycling country.
