Loved the Beano when I was 8 or 9, so late 80s early 90s. I wonder what the content is like now? Might have to buy one and see. IIRC they were 40p when I used to buy them.

So glad to see the Beano is still going. Just reminds me of an era when kids did things like build carts from old prams and climb trees and other stuff that would be considered "risky" today. Dennis the Menace is 72? He's worn better than me.

Our granddaughter who will be 6 next month loves reading the Beano. She seems to be entranced by it. There are jokes written at the bottom of some of the pages and she will sometimes ask " why is this funny " if she doesn't " get " the joke.

Yes, happy birthday to Dennis the ADHD sufferer, and Mini the behaviour issues due to coming from a broken home, and "I'm not a fat object of derision" from the Bash Street Kids.

It's really not the same any more.
