I swear that the calendar used by our world is wrong, Some where, some how, the years have been screwed up and this is actually 2013. So far since the 1st of January, hours have been cut at work so the same amount of output has now to be provide by 85% of the staff we had last year. The person I get on with least at work has been moved to the desk next to mine and the person I got on with best at work is the one who has been let go. Mother in law was given an accidental morphine overdose by her well meaning GP, and while being given oxygen in the ambulance, vomited into the mask and aspirated her own vomit causing pneumonia. She then had a heart attack. Father in law went into a diabetic hypo and had to be hospitalised because he was so worried about his wife he forgot his medication. Mum in law was then released from hospital, only to suffer another heart attack 3 days later and had to spend a fortnight in hospital & we had to have the old boy stay with us so that we could keep an eye on him.. My own mum fell while hanging out her washing, breaking her arm and hip, had to drag herself indoors to the phone, and be taken to hospital in my brothers car because the wait for an ambulance had reached 5 hours and no sign of anyone coming. The whole family has been passing a sickness and diahorea bug between each other, so as 1 person gets over it, 2 more go down with it. Last Saturday, I was so distracted with every thing going on that I simply let go of the handlebars while ridding, trying catch a packet slipping out of my jacket, and ended up in a heap in the kerb. I purchased a reasonably expensive bit of bike from Bike Discount in Germany, at a very very big discount, but the item arrived incomplete, and I have had a month of e Mails and phone calls trying to convince them to send me the parts that were missing. The most recent event has been my 60th birthday, another day I would rather forget. I really feel that I am literally lurching from one disaster to another. How has 2013, sorry I meant 2016, been for you so far ?

you have certainly had it rough so far, at least you can vent here and get it off your chest.
My year has been nowhere near as bad as yours, the usual stuff, grandkids and our little charge getting various vomiting virus and run of the mill colds, the one major incident was my dear old mum (age 87yrs) suffering with a fractured hip for ten days or more due to the hospitals inability to find the fracture and the fact they would not listen to what I was telling them. One really nice lady doctor eventually listened and sent mum for an MRI scan which revealed the fracture. A hip replacement operation was arranged for the same day and mum is currently in a nursing home undergoing physio in preparation for going back to her own flat, from finding the fracture to the present time is eight weeks and counting. also had the mother-in-law seriously ill with chest infections and heart problems, she is currently stable, also our little ones birth father (my wifes brother) is seriously ill due to alcoholism and the associated effects on his health, he is basically being kept alive by powerful medication but he will not stop drinking so effectively he is on borrowed time.

Not as bad as @Psycolist year thank goodness.

It's been a good year so far, no one has karked it, no one is ill, work is fine if you like that sort of thing, the house is FAB, nothing has broken and the animals are all good the sun is shining and the birds are tweeting and I managed to get through the winter without killing my bees. I have nothing to moan about and that quite frankly is p1$$1ng me off.

I broke my ankle before christmas and as I am self employed I then didn't earn a bean for nearly 4 months.
Still, never mind eh!

At the end of last year I came off my bike and broke my little finger and Tore all the tendons and now have a permanent stiff little finger.

In February I came down with stress and minor depression, which is what I am struggling with now. I have to make some major decisions about work and that is pushing me down again. Like, am I ever going back. But I am trying to keep optimistic and am working hard to get out of the hole.

It certainly hits your confidence for 6 though.

Just emerged from 6 months nursing my elderly MIL while she received chemo. She's gone to a care home now but she was incontinent and the smell of wee wee is still lingering in the front room and dowstairs bog that she used. Anyway I'm off on a mystery trip next Friday, dunno where I'm being taken but Mrs Gti has assured me it won't be her dream /my nightmare holiday of somewhere hot with lots of sand and nothing to do. Then back for a big birthday celebration. Then a Hebridean cruise in May in a 22 ft yacht with a buddy. So things are looking up.

Not too bad here. I had a £3162 tax rebate in January. This I spent on a brand new full sus MTB which cost just over 2k. The rest I am putting towards a planned motorcycle road trip across Europe in August. In February I managed to find a new job which pays somewhat more than my previous one did, plus its closer so a win win. I did have a puncture the other day however. I ended up changing the old Rubino tyres to Michy Pro 4s so hopefully will be much better. Weather hasnt been too bad here either. I can usually get a good ride in most weeks so far, plus my new job has shifts ideally suited to me. Best of all though my wife is booked in for a boob job next week so things are looking pretty good at the moment.

Reading what some have put, sofar, makes two months ago appear nowt.
24 EEG & 7 day ECG, the first scaring people! Wires from the head, the second had me walking down a street, oddly quiet trying to work out what was wrong. What was wrong, was I was the only person on it.
Shouted instructions from an officer to keep my hands in view, and make no sudden movements got my attention.
Don't know what would have happened if I'd fallen.

Yep, the venting did help thanx, it was just good to lay it all out and share ------- I write this just before retiring early as father-in-law went into another hypo in the early hours of this morning. He woke his wife by pouring a glass of orange squash over her head while in bed. ( oh to have seen that ) I got a call from her at 4-30am, asking me to go and sort him and their bed out. At least it wasn't an ambulance job this time, just two hours nagging and shouting at him, trying to get him to understand that he needs to take sugar on board because he is ill. His sugar was reading 1.6, That is coma territory for some people. His speech becomes incoherent and manner combative, just like the symptoms of a head injury or stroke. Slowly as the sugar levels came up he came back to his normal grouchy self. Even now, he refuses to believe he did the orange squash thing. To be fair, he did not remember stuff that happened last time either. But we did get him in to see his GP and diabetic nurse. Tests and deduction seem to make them think its due to a recent weight loss after knee surgery. Less blubber, less medication needed. I hope they are right, for all our sakes. On a much brighter note, I spent a great afternoon with my two grandchildren, playing all sorts in the sunshine of our rear garden. So now, I am off to bed. Good night.
