Has anyone done a Mediterranean cruise with Tui? We have one planned in April, stopping in Corsica, Pompey, Naples, Vatican , Rome and Sardinia.

Been on one cruise on the med but not one, from my experience it was better to just get off and organise it yourself. Also worried when out at sea that all the fat people on the deck would turn over at once and capsize the ship

Yes, last April exact same as you by the look of it, as for trips, what ever you can afford as they are not cheap!!!

When we were in the Dominican Republic, we teamed up with 6 other strangers and hired a mini bus taxi. It worked out far cheaper than organised trips and it was good fun planning things together.

I'm hoping you mean Pompeii and not Pompey!
That's visiting the site, definitely get fast track tickets as it can be very busy. ditto the Vatican
The other days, eg Sardinia, Corsica, you'll probably just get to see what town they stop at and see what the sites are. You'll only be off the shop for max 8 hours, don't miss it leaving!
If you've never been to Rome before, maybe there's a tour bus round the main sites

Personally I'd go to the local library and get some guidebooks to peruse for ideas before going

Travel insurance wise, be sure to add cruise cover

As far as Naples is concerned, do not go wandering about on your own, we've been to various cities all over Europe, Naples was the only place both me, & Mrs DRM felt genuinely at risk, we decided to to sack it off after about 2 hours & go to Sorrento on the Transvesuviana coastal railway, we were followed round, offered stolen iPads & iPhones, there was homeless people sleeping in the gutters at the side of the road just outside the station, where we were also greeted by a mountain of full bin bags that seem to have been dumped outside the station to cheer the place up, as a final nail in the coffin for Naples, I spotted a man, in his 60's spotting peoples bags with valuables on top that could be easily lifted, nodding to a younger man just away from the queue as possible pickpocket victims, however Pompeii is fantastic, you can see the tracks in the stone roadways worn in by Ox Carts over the decades, and the house with the mosaic of a snarling chained up dog, with the warning "Cave Carnum ("Beware of The Dog") but you won't get to see everything in one day, Pompeii is just too big, apparently the Amphitheatre was closed for several years due to crowd violence between Pompeii & neighbouring Herculaneum , nothing changes!

Vatican will take about 30 minutes unless you want to queue for the church. (You could cycle there from Switzerland instead of taking a cruise)

Rome has so much to see you'll have to come back a few times. If you don't want to do Naples you can take a train to Caserta and see the Bourbon Palace and English Gardens there.

We went to Naples a couple of years ago, arriving at the station (actually from caserta @Emanresu ) had a lovely time, no issues at all.

The museum is astonishing.

FYI. We stopped on the Amalfi coast- iirc it was a three hour coach ride to Rome.

Herculaneum is well worth a visit.
