Has anyone ever built a canoe?

Never made a kayak/canoe, but I have a sit on top kayak and a sea kayak and made a sail for my sit on top

Kayaks are fantastic boats, without them the Inuit people would not have survived in Greenland as successfully as they have. Anthropologists have found Inuit skeletons which have their throwing arm extra developed from chucking spears. Their great success was due to the way they could creep up silently on a seal, the hunter would have an arsenal of razor-sharp spears on his deck that he could use to kill his prey. An Inuit would be fitted with a canoe in the same way as you or I might have a suit made, it was made for the width of his hips and shoulders and his height and weight so that he and the boat became one.

Friends of mine made the second ever recorded crossing from Shetland to Foula in kayaks. Chapeau. I wish I had the time to do some kayaking in NW Scotland.
