I saw this on a website called the LightLane. It looks really cool but I've never seen anybody use it and I was wondering if anybody on here has used it?

It looks like it has to lasers that make a bike path behind you so cars can see and they'll know not to get to close to you. Obviously this is something you would use at night but is it worth the investment?

I quite like that. Be interesting if it gets to market, see how much it costs.

There are (quite?) a few people here who don't like these, as the "lane" is fairly narrow - And motorists tend to think they can pass as close to the "lane" as possible, as long as they do not actually enter it - In this case, the edge of the lane is only a few inches from the cyclists bars, looking at the photo.

Long story short, people think it encourages close passing - I tend to agree.

Doesn't look wide enough, plus I disagree with their premise that:

Cycling at night can be very dangerous especially with bike lanes that are not always very visible. What’s worse is when there is no bike lane

Interesting concept though.

yup I have seen TimO's light in action.

They do look good but....
they are a gimmick.. certainly not to be relied on in the slightest to keep cars a certain distance away from you.

Be good if they could write stuff on the road behind though !! ^_^
Only if you can ..... "tailor the message appropriately"

Anything that gets you noticed is worth considering. Used in conjunction with a rear light/flasher its got to make things a bit safer. I quite like it.. if it projected a page 3 model it would be even better.

There is a clone version you can buy from Deal Extreame for about £45+ which uses a li-ion battery and a miriad of light patterns with a spurious runtime. I like gadgets but not one of these, i'd want the lines as wide as a bus lane.....
