My LBS sometimes has a small range of used bikes outside their shop, and on Wednesday I spotted a Giant Revel mtb marked up at £100.
I had a good look at it but left it. I got home and kept thinking about the bike and thought that it was a bit of a bargain and maybe I should have put a deposit on it to save it til today (payday). I kept talking to David about it saying I could do with a mtb (I only have my roadie) and it would stop me using his! Anyway I said to him if it's still there Friday I'll get it.
Fast forward to today I get to the shop and it had gone from out the front and the lad in the shop said it had been sold
Oh well I thought I should have put a deposit down on Wednesday! A bit later on realising that I could do with a mtb I was looking online at other bikes, David then says that he thinks he should tell me what he's got me for my birthday (in 2 weeks) because he was worried I might ruin the surprise by getting what he'd already got me!
Turns out he bought me the Giant!!!
He even told the lads in the shop not to say anything if I went in asking about the bike!!!
I must say the lad in the shop did a good job I certainly believed him!! So anyway I just thought I'd tell you this little story so you know why he's the best fiancé ever!! He's even going to let me have it early!!
