Colin, we will miss your photo's of flooded Hebden - apparently it's on flood alert again !!
I just commented on that in the Manchester thread! I'm afraid that the river is a bit beyond my hobbling range at the moment, at least, as far as I want to push it.

Unlike most illnesses, where I'm chomping at the bit to get moving again, I'm being very cautious with this one of mine because the consequences of getting it wrong could be very serious!

Getting out of breath due to unfitness always makes me want to try harder. Having seen a scan of the sludge-clogged blood vessel in my lungs though, I don't want to risk blasting a blob of it out and it ending up in my heart or brain! I'll leave it to the rat poison to dissolve it away slowly!

I cycled to my First Aid training course in the rain yesterday - it was local, 20 mins along Bristol Railway Path. But as I emerged from the Staple Hill tunnel, I suddenly found myself cycling through a flood that was getting deeper and deeper!. I passed another cyclist coming the other way and he remarked about it being deeper further on. My waterproof socks together with overshoes and rain trousers kept most of the water out, but I was cycling about 100 yards through about 12 inches of water:blush:, quite hard going really. I was amazed by the amount of water pouring in from either side - this part of the path is in a cutting. It was like riding along a shallow stream with waterfalls on both sides, oddly surreal. I hope nobody on a recumbent tried to get through it ^_^.

Sadly, I have no footage of it as my helmet cam isn't really that waterproof, but I did get some footage on the way back at 4pm:

It rained all day today.

I work outdoors,

'Nuff said.

Actually, it wasn't as bad as some days, I put my thick coat on and stayed more or less dry apart from my gloved hands.
