It is kind of counterintuitive how quickly it narrows down. A quick Google search says that there are 158k five letter words in English so to get it down to one specific word within six tries is remarkable really. It tells you something about linguistics and statistics and the ability of our puny human brains to comprehend such matters.

I actually think the more letters the easier it gets, as you rule 6 / 7 etc letters in or out at a time, and I think there are less 6 /7 letter words that 4 or 5 in the English language - I haven't fact checked that.

There is also an element of luck in which letters you choose on goes 1 and 2.
