It's even better as a toastie.
 
Lettuce and marmite has always been a favourite of mine. Crisp sandwiches have added sound effects.

Seeing these aren’t all new, a childhood favourite, when your mother was distracted:
White bread, butter and enough white sugar to make a real crunch. If you had enough time, a generous sprinkle of hundreds and thousands added colour of dubious origin and sugar.

cheese and jam is a classic... and marmalade is better than jam :okay:

I tried inventing the 3M sandwich once, Marmite, Marmalade & Mayonnaise... it wasn't as bad as it sounds, but it didn't catch on.
I guess a C&M sarnie isn't that strange, Mrs W and I were given some very nice chutney's for Christmas, the sweet onion one wasn't that much different to jam or marmalade and went very well with a nice piece of Stilton. It still just seems ... well ...wrong.
