Chuck Berry, he was drunk as a skunk in a pub in Bradford (1980's) and was lost on his way to his own gig.

Lizzie Armitstead regularly calls next door, where her sister lives, does that count?

Another one was when my girlfriend won a competition to meet 80s band blancmange. We had to have our photos taken with the band as part of the evening post competition stood behind a huge pink blancmange. I remember them giving us bottles of holstein pills and we were probably 16

I met Tony Adams in a McDonalds in Bielefeld, Germany on a pre-season tour, early '80s I think & way before he became a legend. Still got his autograph somewhere along with Tony Woodcock & Graham Rix.

I'd love to meet him again now....Mr Arsenal!

Also being serious; in my job I meet all sorts of 'celebrities'. None really inspire me and I got in trouble for mistaking the Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty for one of my students. I've a couple of ex-girlfriends who became minor celebrities as well.

Also I had a private gig in my own home from one of the X-Factor finalists (warning - it contains 'fat me' before I lost the weight and only one of the women in the video is my wife  ):

Personally I treat everyone the same; I sat opposite Brian Robinson last week having a coffee and a chat amongst a load of other cyclists. To me that's how it should be.

Twenty five years ago I met Susannah York at a New Year's Eve party in the hills of southern Spain. She was great fun. For some reason we talked about underpants. I'm pretty sure that I didn't initiate the topic.

I've remembered two celebrities that came to my school in the 70s: David Wilkie and David Prowse.

Chas and Dave, in Aberystwyth of all places. They pulled over to ask me for directions to where I guess they were playing a gig that night at the University. Seemed nice enough, though obviously I needed an interpreter.
