Yes. Even. Got done for it by the cops. Mind you I've had the cops knock me off my bike for breaking a red light at 2am in the morning(when I had lights). But then they didn't prosecute when I was so pissed I fell straight of the bike onto the pavement and needed an ambulance after smashing my face up...even brought my 531c racer home.

Someone pinched my cheapos off my pub bike so i had to ride home lightless. Had at least two passers by comment on my lack of them.

I believe that we passed Hannah Mayho yesterday on the top of the Cow & Calf at Ilkley - it was extremely foggy and she had no lights and no high-vis either (although the GB strip caught my eye!)

Personally I am not one for riding in the dark so have yet to be caught out without lights.

I have a rule when I am on tour - DO NOT CYCLE AT NIGHT - therefore should not need lights - However, I cycled down the backside of the Cormet de Rosemund to Borg St Maurice in the dark early on in my touring career - never been without reasonable lights since - quite interesting trying to work out where the "edge" of the mountain/road was

Got caught out at work a couple of weeks ago (the round took longer than expected, and we'd set out a bit late), and ended up riding the Maximus back in twilight, which was annoying, especially when a 'helpful' taxi driver said I should 'get some lights on that, love'. It was the 'love' that really made me mad, coupled with the knowledge that he was right. We went and bought some lights that evening.

Yes went into Hythe one evening and took longer than I'd planned so came home in the nearly dark. Chose to push the bike home after riding about four hundred yards rather than have someone knock me off 'cause they didn't see me. Then there was the time I forgot to switch them on until I reached an unlit bit of road and wondered why I couldn't see  .

Forgot to put my front lights back on once after a rare cleaning session, went to work at lunchtime and realised once there what I'd done. Faced with a 10 mile ride home at 10pm I managed to borrow a friends spare light, cheapo Tesco thing which was almost like riding with no lights at all.

Done it once or twice when i thought i'd be back before dark and wasn't. Did it once drunk on the pavements through Cardiff.....that was interesting.
Wouldn't do it again though.

Yes I have but not intentionally. Either after taking them off after locking up the bike or because the battery has failed or out later than intended. But I wouldn't do any distance like that, and I feel extremely nervous and self conscious on the few occasions it has occurred and I'm more likely just to walk (though as a female I feel safer at night on a bike than walking).
