Ah, not heard of them. I played for Deeside Ramblers until I went to uni. Like you, I havn't picked up a stick in a while.
Really? National League teams for both men and ladies. I've watched DR ladies play down in Norfolk. Magpies would probably win an award for remotest club I think.

I got a good number of medals for judo over the years, but I never trained seriously enough to take it any further than national level. I enjoyed the beer drinking too much.

Actually, that reminds me, our judo team did win a beer drinking competition in Eindhoven at an international team event (not a very important one). The Dutch took it very seriously, but I think they underestimated the drinking prowess of Glaswegians!:becool:

Nice one.

I recall seeing a Scottish tourist have a go in one of those bars in Thailand where they have fights. He was a squaddie who was also a boxer and the Thai guy he was up against must have been a foot smaller. Squaddie punched this guy for two rounds and then in the third round the Thai boxer just dropped him with a flurry of kicks and head punches.

Where's it all gone eh maggot ? i ask myself the same question when I look at myself in the mirror thinking sad old fat git... you should have known me 40+ years ago.

Not nice getting old when all you have left is your memories and a size 38+ waist:blush:

Something that has always stuck in my mind is the piece in Blade Runner at the end when he is dying ...

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

I'd like that to be my epitaph

My team in Sweden won the national cricket championship

(I was man-of-the-match in the play-off final).

I won a few badminton medals when I was at school. I played in the Scottish schools championships a couple of times. In fact myself and my partner won the under-15s mixed doubles in 1984!! I've also got some medals from 10Ks, half marathons and hill races I did a few years ago before my left knee gave out on me:sad:

I won a load of local events, and a few individual races at national level, as a windsurfer in my late teens (a good few years ago now).

Nothing much since though, I seem to be getting less competitive as I get older.
