According to lovely Dr Hilary on Radio 2 most of us Brits don't eat nearly enough processed meat to get anywhere near the level that The WHO thinks is dangerous. So you're all a bunch of lightweights!

Plus - most beef burgers and sausages in this country are made from real meat, so don't qualify.

About to have a pizza with spicy lamb (kebab) topping and a couple of beers.
The way I look at it, somethings going to kill me eventually!

Unless somebody comes up with evidence to show that strawberries/grapes/banana/natural yoghurt, tea with skimmed milk, or salad with cottage cheese are carcinogenic then I should be ok! :okay:

(I'll probably die of boredom instead ...)

Funnily enough some of the research that allegedly showed how eating lots of meat and other fatty foods was bad for your heart actually showed some concerns about higher cancer rates among those avoiding all the 'fatty' foods and using lots of vegetable based products (marg instead of butter, vegetable oil instead of lard and whatever).
The study that this new WHO advice is based on starts by introducing the flawed idea that red meat with it's saturated fat and cholesterol is bad for you, so I've no reason to believe the rest of it is any more accurate.

Bacon butty for lunch and now I'm cooking a vegetarian lasagne whilst imbibing "chef's perks". I'm not spending too much time worrying about the latest scare stories.
