Just skinny dipping for me too.
Not on a public beach - this was in an inviting-looking rock pool on a Corsican river. No-one for miles around. So I stripped off and jumped in.
Big mistake.
My poor little genitals hit water that felt like liquid nitrogen and went into hiding. I have yet to retrieve one of my testicles - I think it's up near my tonsils somewhere. I leapt straight back out again and sat on a sunny rock to warm up. I later found that the river flowed straight down from the mountains, so it was mostly snowmelt.
Handy Hint.
Don't test the water with both feet.

No, it's not just for being naked. The man may be technically sane but he has a long history of being an attention-seeking tosspot. If he just wandered around the hills or the lanes nobody would care, but that's not what he does - he deliberately puts himself about in places where he knows that many people will be offended. He's an expensive nuisance. It would be perfectly possible to sentence him to e.g. 300 hours of community service at a naturist resort, but he won't accept something like that - he insists on being a martyr, which is why he keeps ending up in prison. And generally in solitary, because no-one will share a cell with him.
I think skinny dipping sounds fun, but I don't really get being nude in public.
I'm not a prude and I don't think bodies are shameful or need to be hidden, but in practical terms, it's all a bit bleurgh to me. Especially on a beach with sand in places you wouldn't want it. Not for me.

Have skinny dipped loads of times, great feeling. Best 2 were:
a) Finland. Just me, in a big lake, swimming about anf floating on my back. Dead silence all around.
b) Swam across a lake in Croatia. Then swam back again, to my shorts, lying on the rocks.

There seems to be a theme here relating to a desire to strip off and immerse yourself in water. Which is exactly what I've done at least once, in a pool in a river on a hillside in Scotland. Not sure it was in any way risky though since there was likely no one else around for miles. Never stripped off in a more public setting though but I don't think it would bother me. Having played lots of sports when I was younger I've spent many a time naked in a shower (or bath in some rugby clubs) with numerous men.

We went skinny dipping at work today, during dinner break. It was quite a thrill to wave to the passengers on a passing launch while immersed up to the neck.

Swimming in the sea naked is fabulous, especially at night under the stars. Greece has been the best place for this for me. I have neither the confidence, physique or desire to parade my naked body to the outside world. I think private is best, but each to their own.

Nudity is pretty much compulsory in Japanese 'onsen' (hot springs). As a foreigner, you'll sometimes get looked at a bit more than average and even sometimes asked very personal questions but it's all friendly. Sex-segregated though, except for some of the more remote rural outdoor pools (apparently).
