She's gone to Helen back in this story line.

I'll get my coat...

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Going by a summary online: http://www.lowfield.co.uk/archers/latest.phtml Helen's home and dry, and Rob will be arrested as soon as the trial ends.

It's the dramatic arc, innit? Make things look terrible for her. Tonight it will look even worse, then on Wednesday there will be a cathartic moment of crisis, after which the villain will crack.

I loved this from the Guardian article: "I don’t know if [the writers] are making her deliberately bad and making her psychological state a subplot, or whether they haven’t written it in a way that is realistic, legally." You think? As far as I know, trials tend to last more than 12 minutes per day.

I was thinking more of Aeschylus. Hubris leading to nemesis via crisis. A chorus of Grundeys, a messenger from the Borsetshire Echo. Exit Rob pursued by a mob of furies; he blinds himself in horror.

I forgot to mention the deus ex machina in the shape of a message from the domestic abuse advice line.

Any final predictions before Sunday then? FWIW (which is absolutely nothing as the jury's decision will obviously be determined by the dramatic needs of the producers rather than the legal merits) I thought Anna failed to capitalise on her opportunities - failed to discredit Rob sufficiently, and failed in her closing to build sufficient emotional connection with Helen. So, on the basis of the court proceedings as we heard them, I'd go for guilty. On the basis of dramatic needs, I'd also go for guilty, though perhaps of the lesser charge - it seems to give more dramatic scope. Unless the producers feel they have to go for acquittal for the messages they're sending into real life, having already been criticised for having Helen stab him in the first place?
Well I reckon Helen will be found not guilty. Rob will subsequently be charged with rape but will kill himself, Henry and Jack/Gideon will be in danger when he does this, but will survive.
I'm afraid it's going to be worse than that. Rob will be shunned by the good people of Ambridge. The script writers will commit mass suicide.
