Hello,

I am new to this site. I have joined in with the hope i can find some buddies in the area that are into cycling too and would like to go for rides now and then, both, MTB and Road.

I live in Reading / Berkshire and tend to go out on my bike two to three times a week. Usually i do between 10 and 15 miles as due to work, i don't get much chance to cycle during the day so have to do it in the darkness and on my own so gets kinda boring sometimes. Also, I used to be a smoker until last summer, when i bought the road bike and decided that I would rather enjoy cycling than smoking.

I have two bikes, one full suspension MTB and one Road. They both are about 2 weeks old. I had my previous bikes stolen three weeks ago from my shed so someone will probably be riding some nice bikes this christmas.

Anyway, I hope I get to know some of you well and hopefully some decent cycling buddies come out of here.

Thanks Defy-one.

I work in Hurley so wouldn't discard trying some routes around maidenhead/slough too.
I got about 7 people at work to quit smoking. Get your mate to take a look at VIP cigarrete. Is an electronic cigarrete that actually works. It helped me initially and now I don't even use it. Some guys at work still use it instead of the cigarretes but at least they are not inhaling all the chems of the tobacco, just nicotine and steam so their fitness level is quite good.

lol im the smoker he is referring to :becool: i have started the cutting down stage and my Mrs bought me one of those lecy things have been using it honest . I go through Hurley on one of my routes that i do in to Henley Wargrave etc so we will have to hook up some time. Maidenhead way is blessed with flat road that go for miles and miles so if you fancy a trip out get in touch.

Oh defo up for it, specially if it is flat. Not very friendly of climbs yet but then, it may be because i try and climb like if there were a cake or something waiting for me at the top of the hill and so, I only manage to make it past the middle.

If you have a electric cigarrete, then you are half way there. Ditch the normal cigarretes and stick with the electric only for a while. If that doesn't work, then you don't have the right cigarrete for you.

Shame about your bikes: sheds are no good against thieves, put them in your living room!

The new ones are back in the shed but each has a D lock and a Kryptomite New York faghetaboudit chain lock. I have reinforced the doors of the shed and put three locks on it. I have also installed an alarm for the shed door and another alarm for the bikes and lastly, the MTB has had a GPS tracker installed on it. Over the top? I don't think so. :boxing:

Hi Dan.

that would be great, let me know when and we can arrange something. bear in mind that at the moment i am not a long rides person and not into much climbing. then again, i have always ridden solo so may be different with someone else.
