Hello, everyone!

So do you really need more than one speed? I notice that so many trikes are single speed, especially the smaller upright ones.
As long as they are useful then my thinking is the more gears you have the better.

A trike has no minimum speed so the more low gears you have, the easier it is to climb hills.
My recumbent trike has around 5 gears that are lower than a normal bike lowest gear.
So it may take me longer to climb hills on it versus a bike, but I don't need to work very hard unless the hill is silly steep.

My bent trike also has around 5 gears above a normal bikes range, but they are only for silly fast downhill runs ....... ^_^

So a roof rack wouldn't do? I have an SUV with racks across it (left to right, not front to back) - I had kind of figured being on 3 wheels it could be pretty well secured... should I rethink that??
I hadn't considered roof racks, if you can lift a trike that high then fine (I couldn't now, not since my accident)

Thanks everyone! Unfortunately I think my tricycle dreams may have to wait, these are the only two I can find in my price range (under $400) and they both look like they may be junk (no name, few reviews). I checked around the local resale ads, but nothing within several hours of here.

Oh well. I'm a little sad I won't be able to take my pup, she'd look so sweet in the basket.
