There's something very personal and satisfying about building your own bike.
Most of mine during my life have been self builds.
It's not always the cheapest way of getting a bike but you end up with one where every bit of it has been your choice and you learn an awful lot.

I love north lincs, my mum lives in Worlaby (near brigg) and I always take my bike up there with me, you have the best of both worlds, the Wolds for the hills, and lots of flat riding when you can't be arsed with climbing.
All my road bikes are self builds btw, it does tend to work out more expensive though but you will learn bundles.
If in doubt just ask.
