We were thinking of train to near Clovelly and then exploring around that area, to be honest I would rather stick pins in my eyes than do the most boring place in the world ever with the corkheads on the Island... it is probably lovely but many a bored bored bored trip spent on the IOW! Plus the cost of the train to further afield is cheaper than the cost of the ferry to the IOW (The IOW ferry is supposedly the most expensive ferry in the world or something)
Squidge will be 8 1/2 and User76 will be just 4 by then.
Squidge does have a hankering to go to IOW as he cannot remember going & we do have a friend that has just moved there but I would need serious therapy to get over my IOW aversion.
I went to IOW a couple of years ago, not overly impressed TBH.
What about Dorset? We went to Swanage earlier in the year - twas lovely.
